So I have finally done it after 18 years of legal advice! I've managed to use my use of 80's and 90's movies to good effect! Back to the Future legal advice.......
SPOILER ALERT
In the "Back to the Future" trilogy, time travel is a central theme, and the film features a modified DeLorean car that serves as a time machine. While the DeLorean is used for various adventures throughout the films, racing does play a role in the storyline.
In the first film, the protagonist, Marty McFly, accidentally travels back in time to 1955 and disrupts the events leading up to his parents' meeting and subsequent romance. To set things right, he must ensure that his parents falling love and eventually marry. One of the key scenes involves Marty participating in a race with his father, George McFly, in order to get George to stand up against the school bully, Biff Tannen, and gain his self-confidence. By the third movie, Marty is seen in his own car race with his own nemesis "Needles" who baits Marty calling him "CHICKEN". The growth of the character is shown by Marty not speeding away and refusing to participate and subsequently avoiding a massive collision.
So the link..............I had a client placed in the very position that Marty found himself in. He unfortunately dealt with it like Back to the Future part I! He consequentially faced a charge of dangerous driving and realised he had made the wrong choice when goaded by the driver of another vehicle.
The lesson is that it's important to keep your cool especially when driving. The consequences of not doing so could be disastrous including loss of your driving licence and a potential prison sentence.
To make easy to remember even if you are provoked or called a "CHICKEN" remember your movies and be the grown up Back to the Future part III Marty!
Next for me Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump!
